Rafting

Based at the foot of the Himalayan Mountains, Nepal is blessed with an awesome variety of
rivers. Simply put, we live in a whitewater enthusiast’s paradise with some of the best rafting
adventures on the planet. We offer a wide variety of trips for both experienced rafters and for
beginners or families interested in exploring river rapids for the first time. With trips ranging
from ½ day excursions to 12-day camping expeditions – the possibilities are endless!

Our waterways connect many of Nepal’s most popular adventure destinations making it possible
to get off the noisy bus and enjoy the river between Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bandipur, Chitwan
and Bardia National Parks!

to try rafting for the first time or you are an avid whitewater junky seeking an adrenaline fix – we

Grading

Rivers are graded on a scale of one to six, offering more challenges and difficulty as you ascend.

I Class
II & III Class
IV Class
V Class
VI Class
I Class

Rivers have shower-moving current with little or no obstacles.

II & III Class

Rivers are fast moving with some obstacles and smaller or medium rapids.

IV Class

Rivers have a long, continuous section of whitewater and large waves which requires
strong paddling and good teamwork in the boat.

V Class

Rivers have powerful prolonged sections of rapids and big holes, which requires very
strong paddling and experienced rafting team.

VI Class

Rivers is considered to be almost impossible to run rafting.

Trisuli, I+ Class, 1-3 days

River Distance: Approx. 15-km a day
Rafting Starting Point: Charaundi (82 km from Ktm)
Rafting Ending Point: Kuringhat or Simaltal

Day 01: Transfer to Charaundi (83 km west) and start rafting till Kurintar. Provide cool lunch
on the way. After arriving at Kurintar, transfer to their destination. Or clients who are doing two
days rafting, they will have dinner and camp at Kurintar.

Day 2: After breakfast starts rafting till lunch at Simaltar. Transfer back to Kathmandu / Pokhara / Chitwan.

Seti Khola, III Class, 2 days

River Distance: 37 km
Rafting Starting Point: Damauli
Rafting Ending Point: Gai Ghat

Day 01: Drive towards Damauli by tourist bus 5 hours from Kathmandu and 2.30 hours from
Pokhara. Start rafting and camp at Sarangghat.
Day 02: Rafting ends at Gaighat and transfer to Kathmandu about 5 hours or to Chitwan 3 hours
and Pokhara 4 hours.

Bhote Koshi, III/IV+ Class, 2 days

River Distance: Approx. 18-km
Rafting Starting Point: Baseri (95 km)
Rafting Ending Point: Lamoshanghu Dam.

Day 01: Drive six hours to Baseri. After lunch start Rafting continuous whitewater rapids to
Barhabise. Return Baseri by bus and camp.
Day 02: Rafting the Bhotekoshi River class 4 rapids and finish at Lamoshanghu Dam. Drive
back to Kathmandu.

Kali Gandaki, III/IV Class, 3 days

River Distance: Approx. 58 km
Rafting Starting Point: Nayapul, Baglung
Rafting Ending Point: Mirmi Dam

Day 01: Three hours bus drive to Nayapul, Baglung. Pump the raft and rafting around 3 hours.
Camp nearby Modibeni.
Day 02: Rafting about 4 hours and camp at Purtighat.
Day 03: Rafting about 2 hours end at Mirmi Dam and after lunch transfer to Pokhara by
minibus.

Marshyangdi, IV/V Class, 4 days

River Distance: Approx. 52-km/63 km
Rafting Starting Point: Besisahar/ Ngadi
Rafting Ending Point: Dumre

Day 01: Transfer to Khudi via Besisahar about 6 hours bus drive and camp.
Day 02: Raft 5 hours and camp nearby Besisahar after running class 4/5 rapids.
Day 03: Transfer below Marsyangdi hydroelectric Dam and start rafting till Paundi and camp.
Day 04: Raft 3 hours and Finish near Dumre and transfer 3 hours to Pokhara by minibus.

Sun Koshi, IV/V Class, 7-9 days

River Distance: Approx. 272 km
Rafting Starting Point: Dolalghat
Rafting Ending Point: Chatara

Day 01: Three hour & 40 min bus drives to Dolalghat and prepares for rafting Camp at a sandy beach.
Day 02: Run class 3 rapids and camp nearby Racemate.
Day 03: Rafting about 4 hours with class 3 rapids and camp nearby Harkapur.
Day 04: Rafting about 4 hours with class 4/5 rapids and camp nearby Harkapur.
Day 05: Rafting around 4 hours with class 4 rapids and camp near Rasuaghat.
Day 06: Rafting on whitewater class 4 rapids and camp on the sandy beach.
Day 07: Rafting about 4 hours through “Bigdipper” and camp below rapid.
Day 08: Rafting about 2 hours till Chatara and after lunch drives back to Kathmandu.
Day 09: Arrive Kathmandu.

Karnali, III/V Class, 9 days

River Distance: Approx. 185 km
Rafting Starting Point: Karaleghat
Rafting Ending Point: Chisapani

Day 01: Night bus to Birendanagar (Surkhet).
Day 02: Minibus to Kalyani (Rough Road) about 4 hours and trek to Karaleghat about 2 hours and camp.
Day 03: Rafting 4 to 6 hours whitewater section camp by river beach.
Day 04: Raft about 5 hours of class 4/5 grade rapids through Junglaghat and camp.
Day 05: Full of continuous whitewater rafting and camp.
Day 06: Canyon Exploration fully, whitewater rafting and camp.
Day 07: Flow down the jungle area and camp by jungle.
Day 08: Wildlife views while rafting and finish at Chisapani. Drive back to Kathmandu after lunch or travel Royal Bardia National Park.
Day 09: Arrive Kathmandu.

Tamor, III/V Class, 12 days

Package duration: 12 days

Trekking: 4 days
Rafting Starting Point: Dobhan
Rafting Ending Point: Chatara
River Distance:131 km

Day 01: Drive Basantapur via Dharan.
Day 02: Arrive Basantapur and prepare for trekking and camp.
Day 03: Trek to Mangalbare about 5 hours and camp.
Day 04: Trek to Guphapokhari about 5 hours and camp.
Day 05: Trek to Gorja about 5 hours and camp.
Day 06: Trek to Dobhan about 3 hours and camp.
Day 07: Rafting starts at Tamor river. Run class 4/5 rapids and camp at Kabelidobhan.
Day 08: Rafting whitewater section and camp nearby Koya Riverbank.
Day 09: Raft down calm section and camp at Dumre.
Day 10: Rafting the continuous whitewater rapids of Tamor river and camp near Tribenighat
Day 11: Rafting about 3 hours and finish at Chatara. Drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 12: Arrive Kathmandu.
